Three stunning works by romantic masters. First, the first movement of one of Franz Schubert’s heavenly, late piano sonatas, the one in G Major, where the first movement can be played by itself, and was often called a “Fantasie”. Chopin’s piano sonata with the famous “Funeral March” is a whirlwind of emotions, as is Liszt’s best work for piano, his Sonata in b minor.
